You’ll see a text box is added where you can add your captions. In the Captions panel, press the + button to add your first caption. However, I would not recommend attempting to author all the captions for a project of any substantial length within Premiere. Once you’ve started to add a new subtitle to your Premiere project, then focus will turn to the Captions panel, where you can build and add the text overlays. You can also create synthetic caption assets and populate them from scratch, which could be handy for short projects or for filling holes in the imported caption sidecar.
